Temple Bell — Brass
A cast bell on a turned handle, tuned to a long sustain. Rung at the opening of worship.

Cast rather than spun, because a bell has to be cast to ring properly — spun brass is too thin and dies almost as soon as it is struck. This one is sand-cast in Moradabad, turned true on the lip and finished on a shaped handle. It is rung at the opening of worship and during aarti, and the note is meant to hold long enough to carry across a room. Every casting is slightly different, so pitch varies a little bell to bell. Unlacquered brass. Supplied in a card box with a paper wrap.
Apply a small amount to the pulse points — wrist, neck or behind the ear. Attars are undiluted, so one pass of the roll-on is enough; the scent opens over the first twenty minutes and settles close to the skin. For burners and incense, use in a ventilated room on a heatproof surface and never leave anything lit unattended.
External use only. Not a medicine.
Materials
Sand-cast brass, unlacquered, turned handle. Card box, paper wrap.
Care
Wipe dry after cleaning. Never pack a bell against hard metal in transit; a dented lip changes the note permanently.
